Kids getting involved each other at RFS

Pre-Primary School Programme (Nursery, LKG & UKG)

Pre-Primary education sets the tone of a child's learning in a nurturing environment, and lays a healthy foundation for the child's all-round development. Being in an important phase of their development, these young children deserve all the care and attention as they are initiated in to this new world of learning. At this stage, children are active and curious to learn, and love to play and engage in activities that interest them.

The School's Pre-Primary curriculum takes into account these aspects and provides every child an environment to enjoy the learning activities. The School has developed an innovative and engaging teaching methodology, incorporating a blend of Montessori and Play-Way techniques. It emphasises learning, involving all the five senses, and meaningfully engaging the child.

Highlights of Pre-Primary School Programme:
  • The emphasis is on giving children an atmosphere of freedom so that they can play, sing and move.
  • The use of toys and interesting teaching aids, storytelling, role-play, teaching alphabets and numbers through group activities and rhymes are integral to the learning process.
  • Play materials give children the opportunity to see, touch, feel and explore.
  • The curriculum emphasises holistic development of the child in various domains - physical, creative, language, numeracy and general awareness.
  • Theme based activity rooms provide opportunities to children to develop motor skills, creativity, imagination, team-work, social skills, etc.
  • Learning by doing is encouraged through projects and activities involving art, craft, technology, music, and dance. These activities help children acquire integrated knowledge, fine and gross motor skills, apart from making them enjoy learning.
  • The classrooms and the activity rooms are colourfully designed which excite children to be more inquisitive. They have ample opportunities to explore the environment around them and become more perceptive.
  • Festivals and special celebrations help children understand and value cultural heritage and appreciate diversity.
  • The Programme aims to make a pleasant transition to the Primary School, so that children are able to adapt to the new environment, and are progressively initiated into the world of formal learning.
